This cocktail could be the most refreshing and tasty one I’ve made yet. I don’t actually know if I can confidently say that. They all start blurring together after a while. The brightest for sure though! My husband definitely looks forward to his weekly drink…
This sweet and fizzy punch is one tasty cocktail. The figs and blackberries make a perfectly sweet combo and when paired with the earthiness of bourbon and the fizziness of club soda, it’s hard to have just one. It’s also a perfect drink to make…
My husband loves whiskey. It’s definitely his drink of choice whether
it be on the rocks with his fancy round ice cubes, infused ice cubes, whiskey
stones, or a cocktail. Since it’s still
extremely hot where we live, I decided to make him something refreshing.
The cucumber has a great cooling effect, the lemon a great citrus touch, and both compliment the oakiness of the whiskey quite well. He’s very particular with his mixed drinks and how they play with the certain flavor of the whiskey, so for him to immediately love this one, means it’s good. I’m more of a tequila girl myself and I even thought it was good and made myself one. So, for both of us to sign off on this with one of us being a self-proclaimed whiskey connoisseur and the other not a fan of whiskey is saying something.
1-2 oz of whiskey (depending on how strong you like your drinks)
Splash of club soda (I used lemon flavored for this drink)
Instructions
Muddle cucumber, lemon, and syrup in a shaker or a glass.
If using a shaker, add some ice and the whiskey and shake until cold then strain into an ice filled cocktail glass. If using a glass, add whiskey to an ice filled cocktail glass and strain muddled cucumber and lemon into glass using a mesh strainer.
Right now we are smack into berry season! They are in every store for great prices! My kids love them so I buy about 6 cartons of berries each shopping trip. I was inspired to make a couple different drinks that I would love to…
Every June the biggest Rodeo in the west happens here in Reno. Pretty much the whole town gets involved and everyone runs “rodeo” sales and specials. I worked all 10 days and by the last night I was ready to get back to my normal…
Spring and summertime are usually filled with parties like baby and bridal showers. The big thing to have there is mimosas! Yum!! I know this is not a new concept but I wanted to post this because I like sorbet champagne way more than mimosas. They are cold, sweet and also super appealing to the eye. The possibilities are endless. You can pick a few flavors to put out and either use a prosecco for a sweeter flavor or a dry champagne. Whatever floats your boat!
Scoop sorbet with a small cookie scoop and place in flute. Pour champagne carefully on top of the scoops. Enjoy!
If you serve this at a party, you can either keep the sorbet in your freezer and serve it to your guests or put it in a cooler. If you put it in a cooler, you need to keep it frozen, this is an easy way to do so. Put a towel in the bottom of your cooler, put crushed up dry ice on the towel (carefully break with eye protection). Then put a bunch of regular ice on top of that. Place the sorbet on top of the regular ice and it will keep it nice and cold. I do this for a really long camping trip if I don’t have our trailer with us and it keeps things frozen really well!
