Raspberry Thyme Lemonade

Raspberry Thyme Lemonade

This cocktail could be the most refreshing and tasty one I’ve made yet.  I don’t actually know if I can confidently say that.  They all start blurring together after a while.  The brightest for sure though!  My husband definitely looks forward to his weekly drink…

Blackberry Fig Bourbon Punch

Blackberry Fig Bourbon Punch

This sweet and fizzy punch is one tasty cocktail.  The figs and blackberries make a perfectly sweet combo and when paired with the earthiness of bourbon and the fizziness of club soda, it’s hard to have just one. It’s also a perfect drink to make…

Whiskey Cucumber Refresher

Whiskey Cucumber Refresher

My husband loves whiskey.  It’s definitely his drink of choice whether it be on the rocks with his fancy round ice cubes, infused ice cubes, whiskey stones, or a cocktail.  Since it’s still extremely hot where we live, I decided to make him something refreshing.

The cucumber has a great cooling effect, the lemon a great citrus touch, and both compliment the oakiness of the whiskey quite well.  He’s very particular with his mixed drinks and how they play with the certain flavor of the whiskey, so for him to immediately love this one, means it’s good.  I’m more of a tequila girl myself and I even thought it was good and made myself one.  So, for both of us to sign off on this with one of us being a self-proclaimed whiskey connoisseur and the other not a fan of whiskey is saying something.

Whiskey Cucumber Refresher

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 4 cucumber slices
  • 1 oz. Stevia Simple Syrup or honey syrup (equal parts honey and water)
  • Ice
  • 1-2 oz of whiskey (depending on how strong you like your drinks)
  • Splash of club soda (I used lemon flavored for this drink)

Instructions

  1. Muddle cucumber, lemon, and syrup in a shaker or a glass.
  2. If using a shaker, add some ice and the whiskey and shake until cold then strain into an ice filled cocktail glass. If using a glass, add whiskey to an ice filled cocktail glass and strain muddled cucumber and lemon into glass using a mesh strainer.
  3. Top off with club soda and mix well.
  4. Garnish with a cucumber or lemon slice.
